In this blog post, I’m going to show you how to find right domain names for quick flipping. If you are into domaining for sometimes, you probably figured out by now that all domains are not equal. You want to find the ones that are the cream of the crop… the ones that will be very easy to resell.
Here you go.
How to find right domain names for quick flipping?
1) Look for a trigger word to generate more keywords. Now you might already have an idea for a domain name but most of the time you won’t know where to start.
One of the best places I know to look for trigger words is www.magazines.com. Magazines.com is great because you know the information they put on the cover blurbs is highly researched to be the type of thing people are really interested in. So we can use a word or phrase from a magazine blurb as our starting point.
Start by browsing categories:
Lets’ pick ‘Women’s’ category for example.
Bridal & Weddings is the first one so let’s choose that. There are just two magazines in that section. If you click a cover you’ll be able to see the cover blurbs.
I found Wedding Cakes. Bingo! Every marriage needs a wedding cake, no? This is the phrase with a lot of demand. Now use ‘wedding cakes’ as a trigger phrase in your favorite keyword tool to find many additional phrases. It is to be kept in mind that we are not necessarily looking for wedding cake domains but all things related to weddings.
If you want to domains related to wedding cakes, just head to Google Keyword Planner or Keywordin.com and enter ‘wedding cakes’ and you will see a lot of wedding cakes related keywords. You can choose domains that have larger average monthly search volume and register the same if available. The process is self-explanatory.
In this blog post, I intend to show you how one trigger phase you find in Magazines.com can be used to come with other wedding related phrases. The advantage is that this strategy will prevent to pick domains that have a very narrow user base.
The tool I’m talking here is Google Correlate
This tool is a great tool and still remain underutilized, unlike Google Keyword Planner. Google Keyword Planner is best to select a domain to build a niche website. Google Correlate is great if you want to pick a domain with the intention to resell. There will be many end users.
I entered the trigger phrase and it threw up above results. Some words are irrelevant and crappy. Just ignore them. For example on the above screenshots keywords like ‘dotties’, ‘training in’, ‘travelocity’, ‘dept of’ can be ignored. The above list is just a partial list and there are more search phrases. Most of domains would be already taken but you are patient enough to browse all the list you would certainly find few gems.
Searching further down the Google Correlate, I found few following gems still available for registration. The domains have a massive monthly average search. Even you don’t make sense of some of these names, just register them because people are searching these names on the web.
These two domains are real gems. If you want Wedding Cake specific domains then head to Godaddy Bulk Search and input the entire ‘Wedding Cakes’ related keywords that you found using Keyword tools like Keyword.io. For example, if you input the trigger team “Wedding Cake” into Keyword.io search box you will find the keywords that people search on the web like following.
Now head to Godaddy Bulk Search
Copy paste the above keywords into Google Bulk Search and filter it to ‘Com’ domain. You will have a massive list of ‘Wedding Cakes’ related COM domains still available for registration. Don’t register in extensions other than the COM. Register the domains you think have potential. This method is great for selecting GEO + Keyword names.
Now let’s recap of the process. There are only two steps.
First, you have to find trigger words. For that go to Magazines.com and browse through categories and sub-categories and get prompts by clicking the displayed magazines. Alternatively, head to Amazon and browse through subcategories and used them as trigger words.
Second, go to Google Coorelate and paste your trigger words. The displayed keywords are in demand and have a higher search volume. Paste these keywords on Google Bulk Search and register domains that are valuable and available. If your focus is exact keyword domains, head to Keyword.io and past the trigger terms. Then copy paste all/part of the results into Google Bulk Search tool.
Presto! You have a list of great domains that can be flipped for quick profit.
At present, there are scarcity of good domains because all are registered. This method I discussed above is great as you will be hand registering the names. This is the cheapest way to get valuable domains that have potentials for a quick flip.
